The Eagle Wins Multiple Awards at ICPA Convention
The Eagle, Robert Morris University’s student newspaper, won multiple awards at this year’s ICPA (Illinois College Press Association) convention. Designer Nate Daubert won Second Place in the “Front Page Layout” category. Former Editor-in-Chief Rasheeda Wadley and former Editor John Edwards, both of whom graduated after the Fall 2011 quarter, received an Honorable Mention (Fourth Place) for their co-written “Sports Feature Story.” Both awards were under the category of “Non-Dailies – 4,000 or more,” meaning non-daily newspapers (the Eagle is monthly) at universities with enrollment of 4,000 or more students.

The ICPA is an association for college/university newspapers. Membership is open to all four-year colleges in Illinois. Member schools nominate their writers and designers for awards in 29 different categories each year. The Eagle has attended the ICPA convention every year since 2000 and also won an Honorable Mention last year for photography by Staff Writer Aaron Nielsen.

Send a Valentine’s Day Message & Help the American Heart Association
The Eagle newspaper will be printing Valentine’s Day greetings in the February 2012 issue for $0.50 and $1.00 (depending on how long the message is) and all proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association.
The Eagle’s Chicago staff has a booth setup in the Student Center (7th floor in Chicago) from 11-1 and 5-6 on January 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12. You can get a message form and leave donations there.

Welcome to the Eagle online!
The Eagle is Robert Morris University’s (IL) student newspaper. This new online version will not replace the print version (which is published monthly and can be found on campus or at http://www.robertmorris.edu/publications/eagle/). Instead, the Eagle online will feature regularly updated content in-between each print edition.
Also, the Eagle online is connected to the Eagle’s Twitter feed (@RMUEagle). The Eagle tweets about anything we feel the Robert Morris community may need and/or like to know about.
